Okay I'm not a reviewer, so why write reviews you may ask. I love the act of self-expression and I express myself in every way I can, add to that my lifelong passion for movies and I can't resist. I also find most of the reviews I read to be too long, so by writing my own I typically can determine what I did and didn't like about a movie.

I write from my gut and then I go back and do a gut check to make sure I really meant to say what I wrote. Sure I try to make it perfect the first time, but it's not always possible. I will go back and update my reviews so check back often. I'm in the process of updating all of my reviews prior to Epinions recent system wide update.

When I look at others reviews I look for brevity. I don't want to get a lot of facts about a movie. I don't like nitpickers who look for every little thing they disliked about the movie. While I can respect their eye for detail, I think there is an inherent joy of movies missing from most of those reviews. Yep it appears to me that all they want to do is criticize and show how much smarter they are then the director, producers and most of the world at large. Got no use for that kind of reviewing in my reality.

When I look at Non-Movie reviews I continue to look for Brevity. Make it short get to the point. How can a review of a movie or product help me if I don't read it all.
